Bible Study: Laborers for God

I. Not many laborers
1. (Eph 4:12) Ministry is work
2. (1 Co 3:9) We have the honor of being co-laborers
3. (Mat 9:38 ) Pray for laborers
4. (Gal 6:4) We must examine our work

II. Labor, vain or not?
1. (Ecc 2:17-18) Solomon grew to hate the vanity of his labor. It doesn’t have to be this way
2. (Isa 65:22) Earthly work must be left behind, but God’s work has eternal rewards
3. (1 Cor 15:58) Your work for the Lord is not in vain so you can be steadfast and immovable

III. Our labor beyond ourselves, a part of something big
1. (Joh 4:38) We carry the torch of previous generations
2. (Eph 2:10) We each have a destiny and specific works
3. (1 Tim 4:10) We can labor because we see and trust God. Eternal perspective gives steadfastness

IV. Labor for souls not money
1. (Prov 10:16) Is our labor righteous?
2. (Ecc 6:7) Flesh is never satisfied
3. (Isa 55:2) Jesus satisfies
4. (1 Tim 6:5-6) Godliness with contentment is great gain
5. (Matt 6:20) Store up your treasures in heaven
6. (Joh 6:27) Food which endures to everlasting life
7. (2 Tim 4:5) Do the work of an evangelist, be a soul winner!

V. God will supply for the work
1. (2 Cor 9:8) God will supply for the work

VI. Our labors as the relate to relationships
1. (Col 3:17) Labor for God not man
2. (Eph 6:6-7)
3. (1 Tim 5:17) God will honor you, do not attempt to honor yourself
4. (1 Thess 5:12) Labor in unity

VII. Labor with the Lord’s strength, not your own
1. (Psalm 127:1) Unless the Lord builds the house
2. (Col 1:28-29) His working works in you mightlily

VIII. Labor to enter the rest
1. (Mat 11:28)
2. (Heb 4:9-11)
3. (Isa 40:31) On eagles wings, resting but soaring
4. (Ex 20:9) Honor the Sabbath

IX. Labor diligently, work while there is time
1. (John 9:4)
2. (Eph 5:15-17)

X. Do not neglect the tools for the work
1. (2 Tim 3:16-17) Word equips for the work
2. (2 Tim 2:21) Holiness and sanctification required

XI. Love the Lord of the work
1. (Rev 2:3-5)
2. (1 Co 13)
